By Stormcat
There
you are
Right
next to me
Safe
inside your shell
And
here I am
Right
next to you
Safe
inside mine too

Equal perhaps, but very much alone?
ReplyDeletesafe and yet so alone
ReplyDeleteNicely written
Much truth in this. Quite perceptive
ReplyDeleteBoth amusing and bitter poem! Not the kind of equality we crave for really.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! It is so exactly true!!!!!!!!! A cool take on equality!!
ReplyDeleteWell done. Bookends. For any other purpose the shell is too high a price for equality. Equaly squelched seems like a major reversal.
ReplyDeletenow that was good... the use of clams was really a great way of getting the point across..
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is hard to be closer than the distance of the outer edge of the shell.
ReplyDeleteSix simple lines that manage to speak volumes. The irony, eh? So close and yet, divided by their very own shells. Brilliant poetry. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the PIC!
